In this video I talk about planting a 'keystone' plant (in this case an apricot) with a 'support' plant that is heavily aromatic (in this case, Black Currant). If they are in association the two can work together to promote the keystone up into canopy and above browse line of larger animals while protecting from ground herbivory to some extent as well. I show a very clear example of this simple and functional relationship with a serviceberry protected by a lavender and one right next to it, not protected, that was chewed to ground by rabbits!
