Favourable reports were received from the other side of Port Phillip (Curlewis). Touching the transceiver's case while talking fixed the instability and distortion problem. A shorter wire to the fence and or an earth stake would likely have been a better fix. The receiver is a ordinary AM radio tweaked for 160m. The transmitter is a 2-transistor crystal controlled on 1843 kHz. PA is VN10KM FET.
