Two ewes today delivered lambs completely encased in their water bags... and the bag would NOT rupture! Ofter, the ewe will work at licking the mucous off the lamb when they get up, but in the one case, I knew she would have taken too long and we would have lost the lamb. The other ewe, besides the water not breaking, I only had a head presented... and with lambing, this is a big red flag. I need to see a head AND a foot to feel like a ewe can lamb on her own.
