A demonstration of a crystal radio - Part 2

Part 2 of the crystal set demonstration. This time I'm using a better antenna (a semi-vertical wire about 20 metres long with top loading) and have changed its coupling into the tuning coil. Instead of selecting from a tap, I'm feeding the signal via a 5-turn primary winding over the tuning coil. A better earth is also being used. Several local stations can be heard, up to about 40 or 50km distant. Some of them are loud earphone reception. Selectivity is better than before. More improvements would be possible with better antenna improvements and attention to efficient power transfer to the receiver.
