<description>In this video, I set up a wireless bridge using two T-Halow devices running 802.11ah in the 915 MHz range with an 8 MHz wide bandwidth, creating a 1 km link across a lake. 802.11ah, also known as Wi-Fi HaLow, operates in sub-GHz frequencies and is ideal for long-range, low-power IoT applications. On one side, I assembled a temporary box of gear including an AntSDR E310 running plutosdr-like firmware, a Pi5 with a HackRF and Operacake, a two-port switch, battery, and the T-Halow. On the other side, I used a laptop loaded with DragonOS and another T-Halow connected via ethernet. Despite not having the right connectors for a highly directional SWAG antenna, I stuck with the stock omni antennas that come with the T-Halow and still successfully established a solid 1 km link. This long-range wireless connectivity is incredibly useful for remote areas, IoT applications, or environmental monitoring. I was able to SSH into the AntSDR and Pi and even stream IQ data into SigDigger. Watch the full setup and see how the T-Halow hardware performs in this real-world test!
