DragonOS Focal Receive FT8 w/ WSJT-X (RSP1A, HackRF One, GQRX, CubicSDR, GridTracker)

*Set Mode to FT8 under the WSJT-X Mode drop down. This video shows how to setup pre-installed applications (minus GridTracker) in DragonOS Focal to receive FT8 messages using either the RSP1A or HackRF One. There's an extensive resource of videos and sites dedicated to WSJT-X and amateur radio. I highly encourage doing some research and working towards getting an amateur radio license, I know I'm going to after setting up and receiving my first 20m signals the other night. For those experienced in setting up WSJT-X and/or JS8Call, hopefully you find DragonOS Focal easy to use. For those that are new, there's a link under tools below that I found to be a good reference when setting things up for this video. Hardware: SDRPlay RSP1A (requires DragonOS Focal R10 once available or manually adding Rig Control to the CubicSDR marked for sdrplay), HackRF One, Topics covered: Setting up a virtual audio interface, Setting up rigctld, Configuring GQRX, Configuring CubicSDR, Configuring WSJT-X, Downloading and using GridTracker, Tools: https://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/k1jt/, https://gridtracker.org, https://www.onetransistor.eu/2019/11/ft8-ham-wsjtx-hackrf-sdr.html, pacmd load-module module-null-sink sink_name=Virtual_Sink sink_properties=device.description=Virtual_Sink
