Today we're loading pigs, and they're going to the butcher! On the way we talk about how we raise our pastured pork, growing pigs in a rotating set of pastures on our farm. Herding pigs can be difficult, and unloading pigs at our USDA butcher is especially hard with all the steps they need to go down, so we need to use a cattle prod to get them moving. This makes unloading pigs humanely a real challenge, but is less stressful for them than trying to pull them off by other means. Afterwards, I show how we fill out our pork cut sheet for the butcher, and how to make a delicious pork butt roast. website: http://justafewacres.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Just-a-few-acres-farm-187074114794963/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/justafewacresfarm/?hl=en email: peterelarson3@gmail.com To order Pete's book; "A Year and a Day on Just a Few Acres:" https://www.amazon.com/Year-Day-Just-Few-Acres/dp/149549957X/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2NM8AQPCG3IT5&dchild=1&keywords=a+year+and+a+day+on+just+a+few+acres&qid=1587327049&sprefix=a+year+and+a+day+on+just%2Caps%2C183&sr=8-1
