Our roofers make their own kick out flashing and its nice and tall. They also use tall step flash, which LP SmartSide instructions call for taller step flash. Cutting around the kick out or diverter flashing isnt' tough, but it can be slightly annoying. I hope this video helps someone out. Work like this doesn't have to be difficult, but it is important to get it right. Don't forget to prime your cut ends, even fiber cement siding requires this and last I like to use Sashco Lexel to seal the siding to the flashing.
