        <description>I get asked often what bagged soil products do I use or recommend for container gardening. That is very hard to answer as I typically make mine. I explain what topsoil, premium topsoil, garden soil and potting mixes are and how they vary. I also show you my recommend product for container planting if I was picking a straight bagged product. For a cost reference basic topsoil is about $2, premium topsoil is $3-$4, garden soils are $5-$8 and  potting mixes range $10-$20. There is a lot of variance in the bag sizes too. Some are sold by weigh and some are by volume.
