This stair could easily get away with 3 stringers, but 4 places the middle two at about the walk line. 2x8 tread is overkill but it drastically stiffens the stair and provides a better connection to the tread. All of this reduces deflection which prevents squeaks. Gluing the treads and risers further helps the assembly to act as a unit, not as just individual pieces.
