        <description>Does having a conductive surface under a magnetic loop antenna improve results? Up to now I hadn't been so sure. Previous experiments with radials hadn't been conclusive.  I took the opportunity of good weather and a sporadic-E opening on 10 metres to venture into the water with a pedestrian mobile magnetic loop to find out.  Although signals were volatile I was able to confirm a benefit of being in the water.
