DragonOS Noble Testing RF Propagation Analysis w/ SignalServer + GUI in 2025

I received a request to get SignalServer and SignalServer GUI back into DragonOS, so in this video I’m running DragonOS Noble (Ubuntu 24.04) with both tools already pre-configured—no forking steps shown, just a ready-to-go stack I’ll include in the next ISO. I point out the two repos I’ve combined, walk through launching the service on a fresh SQLite database, remind you exactly where to drop your elevation-data files, and load up a few example link scenarios. Then, in seconds, I regenerate a terrain-aware propagation plot (SignalServer under the hood) and watch that coverage footprint appear live on OpenStreetMap in my browser. Apologies in advance for my new mic picking up every keystroke—either I need to move it farther from my keyboard or finally splurge on a quieter typing setup. Why care about all this? Because every wireless link boils down to three things: link budget (how much power you send versus what you lose along the way), line-of-sight (whether hills or buildings block your beam), and reception values (the signal strength you can actually pick up at the far end). By visualizing those factors on an interactive map, you can instantly tell if your planned wireless bridge will reach, whether you need to raise your rooftop antenna, or if extra gain or repeaters are required—turning hours of guesswork into minutes of confident planning.
