We've been hit hard with heavy snows and a return to deep cold recently which has set us back quite a bit, and now voles are understandably finding some real joy in discovering 60F+ environments with delicious sprouts to enjoy! We'll have to figure out a deeper way to balance their presence. I will be setting traps but my preference is always to encourage an ecosystem solution... more predators, less habitat, rather than killing. I'd love to hear ideas and solutions that folks have found work well for them in reducing the damage voles can cause... Other than that, the high tunnels are functioning well, keeping the soil ever increasing in warmth and moisture and providing a beautiful place to spend a bit of time when it is cold and snowy outside but with just a touch of sun.
