<description>To ensure enough free homemade compost for next year's garden, we are extending our outdoor composting efforts into the fall and winter. We're also finding new free local resources to add to the compost to make this possible. In this video, I start putting together our first fall/winter compost pile. OYR is all about growing a lot of food on a little land using sustainable organic methods, while keeping costs and labor at a minimum. Emphasis is placed on improving soil quality with compost, mulch, and compost tea. No store-bought fertilizers, soil amendments, pesticides, compost activators, etc. are used.
