<description>Many years ago (10) despite extra bracing after we heard the weather forecast on a job we had to leave for a month, the wind took a tall wall right off the floor, ripped all the bracing up and was resting gently against the neighbors house. No damage to their house, but it took us all day with 2 forklifts to repair and reset our wall. Since thing I take the extra time to brace well. That means we use @strongtie SDWS 5" Timber screws instead of nails. This takes 40 seconds more per brace to install, but we are significantly stronger and we make that 40 seconds up when we take down the bracing. Its also much easier on the body. Framing is inherently dangerous, so we do what we can to mitigate that. Be safe everyone. Welcome back to our channel! In this video, we'll be demonstrating the process of bracing a wall that we previously lifted. Follow along as we walk you through each step and provide valuable tips and insights along the way. From choosing the right tools like the Simpson Strongtie 5 inch SDWS screw and Stabila LAX 300G laser, to pre-cutting the cleat at an angle for easy installation, we've got you covered. Learn how to properly locate and attach the braces to ensure maximum support and stability. We'll show you how to measure and mark the wall for precise placement, using techniques like the 4-inch measurement method. Ignore those shiners (nails that missed the stud) – they were intentionally left to showcase the nail size and ensure correct installation. Discover the advantages of using temporary braces and why they are crucial for safety, especially in high-wind areas. We'll share a personal story of a wall incident that highlights the importance of adequate bracing and how it prevented damage to neighboring properties. Watch as we demonstrate the installation of the braces using both structural screws and Paslode XP nailers, discussing the pros and cons of each method. We'll also introduce you to game-changing equipment, such as the adjustable length chain sling and truss jib, which offer increased height, versatility, and safety. Throughout the video, you'll witness our team's expertise and problem-solving skills as we navigate challenges and make adjustments. We value your safety and encourage you to follow proper procedures when bracing walls. Remember, it's always better to be safe than sorry! Thanks for watching! Oh and another takeaway, if you use a drone for commercial work, you need to be part107 certified. Commercial work includes social media like YouTube if you plan to make an income off of that. I watched a video about this last May and then purchased the Part 107 Course https://sso.teachable.com/secure/245841/checkout/1320802/bundle-remote-pilot-plus-maneuvers?coupon_code=FRAMERS100&amp;affcode=245841_0eauthdo I studied and learned for 1 month and then took my test. I scored a 95%, which is a testament to how good Greg and the crew over there teach. That link will save you $100 off the course and support this channel.
