The steps are: Mow the grass on both sides toward the bed. Lay out soaker hose on the bed. Pin the soaker hose straight in permanent location. Add any amendment organic matter you have. Add permanent plastic mulch. Let the grass rot for a few weeks. Make holes and seed or transplant. Voilà a super low maintenance, easy no dig, no till garden bed.
