<description>Though empowering yourself to eat wild foods is great, it is also important to know what it is that you are harvesting, how to prepare it and how much is ok to consume. In the case of ferns, there are many that are not ok to eat as well as only the youngest tender ones of those that are ok will be safe. Also the cooking process will make them more digestible and pull out some of the unfavourable compounds that protect them from herbivores. Long story short, tread lightly with ferns and be sure you have enough information before making a choice to consume. Blessings, and thanks for your continued support, watching my videos.
