I prefer 100% mechanical products, but this kept appearing in the search results, so I took a look at it for fun. I was interested in the fact that it had zero mechanical lock functionality... no keyholes or combination buttons... only an RFID reader. I'm not recommending this lock for most situations. 😉 I do, however, think their "QuickVent" and "QuickShelf" products are kind of neat... since they are designed to be covert in nature. This gun lock was unique enough that I bought it on a whim. "We can make it a part of a contest, perhaps!" I said in justification. 😉 As will can see... this particular solution might deter the most basic of smash-and-grab thieves and could possibly keep toddlers from N.D.-ing but overall it's not a very secure system. You can still cycle the action and pull the trigger and, as I demonstrate, it's trivial for someone to release the shotgun either by mechanically bypassing the lock or by cloning the RFID tokens.
