It transmits 2 watts of double sideband suppressed carrier on 7 MHz and has its own direct conversion receiver strong enough to drive low impedence earphones. It's made 3000km contacts, though up to 1000km is more common. Please add a 47uF electrolytic capacitor in series with a 22 ohm resistor between Pin 1 of the LM386 and earth on the circuit (page 19). PS: For those enquiring about the relay, one side of the coil goes to the +12v (always on) while the other side is shorted to earth by the PTT. It's a DPDT type - one section for the antenna (between final PA and junction of 10 turn coil & 100n capacitor in rx prod detector) and the other for the power (between Tx and Rx stages).
