<description>Demonstration of direct conversion CW QRP transceiver built into a plastic lunchbox. Not used for about 15 years, this rig uses a 3.58 MHz ceramic resonator and has a 2 watt output. The transmitter comprises a 4049 driving a VN10KM - circuit at http://home.alphalink.com.au/~parkerp/projects/pro80cw.htm . The direct conversion receiver uses a now obsolete CA3028 IC and IC audio amplifier. Contacts were made with VK3JS (a local) and VK100WIA, operated by the Adelaide Hills Amateur Radio Club (about 600km distant).
