Water's Edge HF Pedestrian Mobile: 500 mW on 7 MHz with the Wadetenna

Testing the Wadetenna on 7 MHz SSB. Only 500 milliwatts was used instead of the usual 5 watts. Contacts up to about 500km, mostly to portable stations, were made. As expected they were not as easy as with 5 watts. Later on power was increased to 5w to call into the VK2WI broadcast from Sydney over 700km away. Despite the quite low signal contact was made, possibly due to the good low angle characteristics of the antenna.
