<description>Trigger warning: I have decided to make a video about crypto taxes (eep!) First of all, this is not tax advice. These are things that I've learnt and I wanted to share them. (And it applies to US taxes only!) Second, this is not an endorsement of taxes. Many will argue it’s ethical to pay taxes because they support public goods. But a significant portion of your taxes goes towards funding things like the military invasions and occupations, so I can't get behind an ethical justification of taxes. Third, many people use taxes as an excuse for why they shouldn't use crypto everyday. Taxes are really not a show stopper, and I hope through this video to make them a little less daunting! Fourth, there are some neat tricks regarding retirement accounts and donations that might be able to help you. Huge thank you to Roger Brown for his help with this video. You can check out his company Lukka here: https://www.lukka.tech/ A great tool for institutions calculating their taxes!
