Reviewing and demonstrating a $14 electronic component tester. More details: http://www.banggood.com/DIY-Meter-Tester-Kit-For-Capacitance-ESR-Inductance-Resistor-NPN-PNP-p-929603.html & http://webcortex.com/product_detail.php?id=SKU136841&search_param=Cables&item_name=DIY+Meter+Tester+Kit+For+Capacitance+ESR+Inductance+Resistor+NPN+PNP+Mosfet+M168&r=#.U_9j1_mSzPx NOTE: FEBRUARY 2015: There is a way to get the capacitance measure to read 0pF with no capacitance. Short all three pins together for the first four self-tests. Then just before the last test insert a 100nF capacitor. Switch on will now display 'no/unknown/damaged part'. It will now measure capacitors over about 35pF, displaying the correct value. There will be no indication with smaller capacitors - to measure those have them in parallel with a larger capacitor (say 100pF). Thanks to Steve G1KQH for this tip.
