http://www.edibleacres.org/purchase/hazelnut-improved We've been pleasantly surprised to learn how well hazelnuts can produce a crop of nuts in partial shade. In this video I show a particular shrub that is now 9 years old that has a few hundred beautifully sized nuts forming on it, even though the shrub is in what most folks would consider seriously shaded conditions. It is always good to find more crops that are willing to produce food for us without having to clear the woods to make it happen! Edible Acres is a full service permaculture nursery located in the Finger Lakes area of NY state. We grow all layers of perennial food forest systems and provide super hardy, edible, useful, medicinal, easy to propagate, perennial plants for sale locally or for shipping around the country... http://www.edibleacres.org/purchase - Your order supports the research and learning we share here on youtube. We also offer consultation and support in our region or remotely. http://www.edibleacres.org/services Happy growing!
