Ignition timing is very important to proper drivability and efficiency of a gasoline engine. On older vehicles the base timing is often adjustable using a strobe light. However, there are variables, and WE NEED TO KNOW HOW THE TOOL WORKS to get good results! In this case study I adjust the ignition timing on my own 2002 Suzuki XL-7 V6 following the manufacturer instructions. However, I find a discrepancy when verifying the timing using a pressure transducer. CAN YOU GUESS WHAT THIS VARIABLE IS? Enjoy! Ivan
