These radios are based on VGC models (VR-N75 &amp; VR-N7600) and work with the HT app—recently updated to include automatic Doppler shift correction for SATCOM. While these radios can’t transmit on ham bands, their built-in TNC allows them to decode and display APRS data. 📡 In this experiment: Receiving ISS voice comms with the GMRS-PRO handheld Receiving APRS packet reception from the ISS These tests show that even GMRS users can join the fun of space-based communications—at least on the receiving side!
