Magnetic loops for HF pedestrian mobile - Part 4

Another look at the lightweight magnetic loop suitable for HF pedestrian mobile work. In this video I discuss the variable capacitors used and improve the mounting of the coupling loop, using common garden irrigation fittings. You'll also see a smaller and lighter case to carry the transceiver and battery. The loop is again taken along the beach. Ten metres proves rewarding with contacts to VK6 (approx 2500km distant). And a member of the public suggests the loop should be on 'New Inventors'. Stations worked and whose voices are on this video include: 40m: VK2AXB, VK3MQ, VK3ATA, VK5NJ, VK5FTCT & 10m: VK6HOT, VK6BMR. The loop is described fully in the WIA's 'Amateur Radio' magazine, July 2012 pages 34 - 37.
