<description>HF SSB portable for the annual John Moyle Field Day contest. 500 milliwatts was used to make 50 contacts in about 5 hours of operating. 40 metres was the best band, with 80 and 20 metres also being useful. The best contact was VK6 on 20 metres. No contacts were made on 160m. The antenna was 20 metres of wire end-fed most of the time. But as darkness approached about 15 metres more was added to make it more efficient on 80 &amp; 160m. The only other QRP station heard was VK2IG who is one of the stations recorded. Contrary to the caption both contacts recorded were on 80 metres.
