http://www.edibleacres.org https://www.paypal.me/edibleacres - A simple and direct way to ‘tip’ to help support the time and energy we put into making our videos. Thanks so much! As we move into spring there is a need to move out the large back log of compost that has been generated by our chicken system from the last two months. During the coldest times, it is helpful to keep it in a huge pile to keep it warm and active. As we warm up, we need more space for the compost to breathe otherwise it can easily overheat and be even too hot for the chickens to work with! We're going through and topping new garden spaces with a minimum of 4 to 6 inches of this compost to let it rest and mellow a bit before we either transplant into it or direct seed with heavy/larger seeds in a month or so. We'll certainly share notes as we go, but its amazing AND overwhelming to have so much compost to work with. At least 60 wheelbarrow loads to move right now with more continually coming in... If you are within 10-20 miles of Ithaca, NY and are with a non-profit or community minded food generating project and need compost, hit us up, we'd love to share! Edible Acres is a full service permaculture nursery located in the Finger Lakes area of NY state. We grow all layers of perennial food forest systems and provide super hardy, edible, useful, medicinal, easy to propagate, perennial plants for sale locally or for shipping around the country… http://www.edibleacres.org/purchase - Your order supports the research and learning we share here on youtube. We also offer consultation and support in our region or remotely. http://www.edibleacres.org/services Happy growing!
