Chicken Composting - Stacking More Function

http://www.edibleacres Trying to evolve our chicken composting system with a new configuration of long, parallel composting rings that flank the main channel of compost activity the chickens work with. This should make it easier to sift and filter out sticks, peels, napkins, and other misc. that the chickens aren't interested in, all while providing a thorough inoculation point for red wiggler worms and beneficial mushrooms to enter into the incoming and processing compost. All while providing a wind break and insulation for both the chickens and compost and to some extent for the coop. These sorts of very low cost, pretty quick to set up experiments feel incredibly important in the spirit of 'observe and interact' and to evolve this system at every step into a more integrated and whole setup. http://www.edibleacres.org/ - our permaculture nursery in NYS Edible Acres is a full service permaculture nursery located in the Finger Lakes area of NY state. We grow all layers of perennial food forest systems and provide super hardy, edible, useful, medicinal, easy to propagate, perennial plants for sale locally or for shipping around the country... http://www.edibleacres.org/purchase - Your order supports the research and learning we share here on youtube. We also offer consultation and support in our region or remotely. http://www.edibleacres.org/services Happy growing!
