        <description>Hearing 7 MHz SSB amateurs on an unmodified 27 MHz AM CB radio with a simple two transistor receiving converter. Key stages include a germanium diode mixer, 20 MHz crystal controlled local oscillator (I actually used 10 MHz crystals and doubled) and a beat frequency oscillator using a 3.58 MHz variable frequency ceramic resonator oscillator (used on 7 MHz harmonic).
