This set was sold by Tandy/Radio Shack as a competitor to the GE Super Radio. It features a tuned RF amplifer, wide bandwidth reception on AM, and external antenna connections. Coverage is 520 - 1700 kHz and 88 - 108 MHz. It's not really a DXer's set but is suitable for the consumer wanting better AM performance than the majority of receivers that provide AM coverage only as an afterthought. A rough assessment: AM sensitivity 6/10 AM selectivity 6/10 AM tonal quality 8/10 FM sensitivity 6/10 FM selectivity 5/10 FM tonal quality 8/10 Ease of tuning 9/10 Dial 6/10 Overall - A great sounding set for local and fringe area reception 7/10 The set is not known to be available new anymore and was picked up at the local Sunday market.
