http://www.edibleacres.org https://richsoil.com/hugelkultur/ - nice and deep description to understand the concept better We use hugelmounds extensively in our landscape. BUT, rather than trying to make the perfect bed right out of the gate, we work the concept as a way to manage organic matter like felled trees, muck soil, pond excavation, raked leaves, etc. We don't get stuck on having them need to be super fertile and productive right away, they are places to send raw ingredients in thoughtful ways that can eventually evolve into amazing permanent raised beds. Part of the idea of long term, perennial dominant growing systems is patience! This approach of working with hugelmounds or hugelculture without worrying about when it's ready can ultimately yield some amazing production spaces over time. https://www.paypal.me/edibleacres - A simple and direct way to ‘tip’ to help support the time and energy we put into making our videos. Thanks so much! Edible Acres is a full service permaculture nursery located in the Finger Lakes area of NY state. We grow all layers of perennial food forest systems and provide super hardy, edible, useful, medicinal, easy to propagate, perennial plants for sale locally or for shipping around the country… http://www.edibleacres.org/purchase - Your order supports the research and learning we share here on youtube. We also offer consultation and support in our region or remotely. http://www.edibleacres.org/services Happy growing!
