<description>Things have just lately improved but for a while late last year processing times for amateur radio exams and callsigns blew out to three to five times longer than mandated performance standards. Here I take a look at the amateur assessment and callsign issue system currently run by the Australian Maritime College for the Australian Communications and Media Authority. Use is made of material obtained through freedom of information (FOI). The material I received will become generally accessible on about 1 February 2021 via https://www.acma.gov.au/foi-disclosure-log (See item No 83).
