Testing a phasing SSB receiver: Part 2 - with AM signals

Describing and demonstrating a 3.5 MHz phasing direct conversion receiver using 4 active devices modified from a transceiver design by SP5AHT. The phasing method provides 'single signal' SSB reception but without the frequency conversion and crystal filter that a superhet receiver would require. You'll see its operation on AM, CW and SSB signals. Special emphasis is given to AM voice and music reception as this can be difficult to resolve on direct conversion receivers, especially those that do not suppress the audio image. SP5AHT's circuit appears at: http://sklep.avt.pl/photo/_pdf/avt2906.pdf An article on my version of it, for receiving only, will appear in a forthcoming issue of Sprat from the G QRP Club. See my previous video for details of how I adjusted the RF phase control for best image rejection with the help of an RF signal generator and Android mobile phone.
