https://stream.echo6.co/videos/watch/c25e7515-9250-42b5-bfa9-ec67ee7d3473 In this video, I spend some time walking through a small—but useful—adjustment I made to a forked version of GoATAK Server to support offline OpenStreetMap tiles and serve up a working TAK map interface, directly from the WarDragon Pro. This isn’t the primary intent behind WarDragon Pro—ideally, it’s configured to communicate with ATAK via multicast or a proper TAK server—but when you’re truly disconnected, this gives you a fallback: embedded TAK map access and offline tiles served locally. What I actually did was locate and modify the map layer configuration in GoATAK Server to point to preloaded OpenStreetMap tiles (up to zoom level 10) that are already hosted on the WarDragon Pro. To support this, I also set up an NGINX reverse proxy and a basic tile server to handle requests—which adds some overhead and uses additional ports, but gets the job done when nothing else is available. Most importantly, this gives me a chance to talk about what I’m working toward: a streamlined Web UI to simplify configuring the WarDragon Pro, making it easier to handle everything from TAK integration to sensor and service management without digging into the terminal.
