https://stream.echo6.co/videos/watch/d460b6b5-dc28-45ed-9c83-e389f0b6d4d9 This season, This Old House partners with the national non-profit, Homes for Our Troops to build a specially adapted home for Army Staff Sergeant Matthew DeWitt who lost both arms and sustained damage to his face and eardrums in a rocket propelled grenade (RPG) attack while deployed to Iraq in July 2003. An avid gardener and cyclist, SSG DeWitt looks forward to having a home equipped to his needs where he can focus on healing and rebuilding his life with his wife Cat and their two young sons. SSG DeWitt’s new home will feature over 155 special adaptations, including keyless entry, raised countertops, accessible storage, touchless faucets and raised garden beds. The entire cast of This Old House including Tom, Norm, Richard, Roger and Kevin will participate by providing advice and consultation in adapting standard building products for this Veteran’s specific needs.
