Building an Off-Grid Text Network: How Far Can ONE LoRa Node Reach? (Mesh Range Test)

This video is my exploration of LoRa mesh devices. I show you how much coverage I get over my neighborhood from hanging a Seeed Studio SenseCAP Solar Node P1 Pro repeater in a tree in my backyard. I also do a long-distance range test with the solar repeater node hanging on a mountainside (ranging from 2 to 10 miles). I used Meshcore for the test, but most of the lessons and takeaways will be the same for Meshtastic. I also discuss the social and political implications of regular people being able to create a channelized, encrypted, off-grid communications network themselves, with no need for expensive infrastructure controlled by corporations.
