Yes, I realize that you might keep your personal key on your key ring 99% of the time... but if you were to ever remove it and give it to a neighbor when you're going out of town, this helps you log and track that so much more easily. Of course, you get what you pay for. The cheapest sets are sometimes made using lower quality steel and they won't hold up as much to repeated use. But for civilian levels of marking (as opposed to use by a professional who is stamping keys 10x a day) even the cheap-o sets can work sometimes.
