The importance of accurate layout cannot be oversold. Its not just about making sure trusses (or rafters) line up over studs which line up over joists, its also about tracing point loads and noting on the plates anything the trades might need. No one likes to install a 6x6 after the plumbing or electrical is in. My personal preference is to be minimal with my notes on plates.
