What would you do if you won the lotto? -Quit your job so you have more time for yourself. Or work less hours if you like your job. A lot of people hate their job and the #1 reason they want to win the lotto is so they can quit. -Getting mortgage free and cutting your expenses lets you work less hours because you don’t have to cover all those bills. And if you hate your job it’s easier to change careers if you’re expenses are low. -Eat higher quality healthy food. On the homestead you’re able to have chickens for farm fresh eggs, grow a garden for fresh fruits and vegetables. Which saves you money and improves your health. -Spend more time with your family because you could afford to. This is the one that makes you the most happy, when you get to spend more time with your family it is so fulfilling and enjoyable. You’re working less hours and cooking up that delicious food, of course your family wants to come over and share all that. And having strong family ties makes you mentally and emotionally stable. -Make your house more comfortable. Improve your house. You’re going to have a small house with no mortgage so you’ll have more money to spend on high quality furnishings. Those are the exact same goals of homesteading. You accomplish those goals slower but you do get them in the end. One point of homesteading is to be conservative and live a simple life. But even if you’re super wealthy you can choose to be conservative. Look at Warren Buffet he’s the 4th richest guy in the world, and he lives in a modest house in Nebraska. So even super mega wealthy people can be conservative. I LOVE Warren Buffet, he’s a very modest man. You can live the lifestyle of a lotto winner if you become a homesteader. Winning the lotto is a dream, homesteading is achievable, you yourself can make it happen. So instead of betting on a fantasy, bet on yourself, you can do it. It’s definitely achievable.
