In 2011, we produced and directed Back to Eden Film, a documentary feature about master gardener Paul Gautschi's incredible regenerative organic food growing system. The film went viral gaining millions of views globally and igniting a food-growing movement known as Back to Eden Gardening. We invite you to watch the raw footage from behind the scenes of making the Back to Eden Film. Stored safely for over a decade these videos have never been shared until now. During the making of the Back to Eden Film, we documented Paul daily in his gardens and orchards for a year. Paul became a close friend and mentor to us. He patiently shared his unique knowledge of growing food and his gifted ability to witness the details of God's design in creation. Paul's deep faith, generous character, and contagious enthusiasm continue to impact our lives and the lives of millions of people worldwide who witness his story. Please enjoy watching behind-the-scenes clips from the making of the documentary. We hope you get inspired to grow the best-tasting food on earth and join the Back to Eden Gardening movement!

Sincerely,

If you want to save your own seeds most successfully and true to their own parent seed, grow heirloom seeds!

What is an Heirloom Seed?
Heirloom seeds are seeds from a plant that has been passed from one generation to another, carefully grown and saved because it is considered valuable, sometimes for hundreds of years! To be an heirloom seed, the variety must be open-pollinated. This means that seeds can be planted, the resulting plants allowed to mature, and seeds collected to be replanted the next season. The collected seeds would be expected to "breed true" with regards to the traits of the parent plant.

In this video Dana & Sarah, directors of Back to Eden Film, interview Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds owner Jere Gettle at the world-famous Heirloom Expo in Santa Rosa, California. Jere talks with us about the importance of heirloom seeds and how gardeners are part of the solution to our future seed security! Support biodiversity preservation, rare seeds, and small-scale organic farmers!

After years of back-breaking toil in ground ravaged by the effects of man-made growing systems, Paul Gautschi has discovered a taste of what God intended for mankind in the garden of Eden. Some of the vital issues facing agriculture today include soil preparation, fertilization, irrigation, weed control, pest control, crop rotation, and PH issues. None of these issues exist in the unaltered state of nature or in Paul's gardens and orchards. "Back to Eden" invites you to take a walk with Paul as he teaches you sustainable organic growing methods that are capable of being implemented in diverse climates around the world.

Paul’s regenerative organic gardening method mimics the way the natural forest generates healthy, resilient, fertile soil. The technique is simple -- cover the soil. Then practice these growing principles: No tilling. No chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides. No matter the soil condition or climate, the results are astounding and the benefits to the health of the soil, humankind, and the environment are unprecedented. How to sign up for a free delivery of wood chips on the ChipDrop website.

Tips for getting a wood chip delivery faster.

How the new ChipDrop Network can connect you with your local community.

How the ChipDrop Network can help you find people with excess wood chips. Perfect for growers without enough space for their own delivery.

The incredible impact ChipDrop has made on the environment.

TIPS:
Make sure to tell tree service companies that you want to avoid black walnut and eucalyptus since these can inhibit seed growth.

If you can, also offer to donate $20 - $100 per dump truck load. You'll be moved up on their priority list!

I always indicate I want the chips "finely chipped for landscaping and gardening use."

When you get a delivery, you can always ask to look inside to check the quality before allowing them to dump.

If you get a load you really don't like, compost it in place before use!

ABOUT BRYAN KAPPA:
Bryan Kappa is a Portland native who combined his love of trees and technology into ChipDrop, a web service that helps gardeners get free arborist wood chip deliveries from local tree service companies. While hauling brush for a local tree company he realized the potential cost savings of delivering the freshly chipped trees to neighbors and homeowners, as opposed to driving long distances to the green waste facilities (and paying their fees). He also knew that people loved free things. Sign up for FREE to get a ChipDrop!

NOTE: At this time, the ChipDrop free wood chip delivery service is only offered in the USA. International growers can call your local "tree service companies" and ask for a free wood chip delivery!

BUY THE LIVING SOIL HANDBOOK TODAY! https://shrsl.com/3deht
The Living Soil Handbook A No-Till Growers Guide to Ecological Market Gardening is centered around the three basic principles of no-till market gardening:
Disturb the soil as little as possible
Keep it covered as much as possible
Keep it planted as much as possible.
Farmer Jesse Frost then guides readers in applying those principles to their own garden environment, with their own materials, to meet their own goals. Beginning with an exploration of the importance of photosynthesis to living soil, Jesse provides in-depth information on:
Turning over beds
Using compost and mulch
Path management
Incorporating biology, maintaining fertility
Cover cropping
Diversifying plantings through intercropping
Production methods for seven major crops
Throughout, the book emphasizes practical information on all the best tools and practices for growers who want to build their livelihood around maximizing the health of their soil.
