Building the best Raspberry Pi NAS - Wiretrustee SATA

I've built a few Raspberry Pi NASes in my day, but none were this nice.

The Wiretrustee SATA is listed on Crowd Supply and will allow you to plug in a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 and up to four SATA hard drives or SSDs to build your own gigabit NAS.

UPDATE: I just heard Wiretrustee is postponing production of this board for now due to component shortages and huge price spikes for some of the most important parts 😦

They still have an open source repository (https://github.com/wiretrustee/cm4-sata-board) with designs for some of the parts like the enclosure and heatsink, and I'm really hoping they'll be able to get production up and running soon, because this is such a neat board!

You have two options for 2.5 Gbps networking, if you want it. First, for all PCIe, and stackable boards:

But that will downgrade the PCIe connections to Gen 2.

NUMA NUMA make Raspberry Pi go ZOOMA

Raspberry Pi 5 gets 10-15% speedup with 100 line Linux kernel patch. And what if we could save 50 megawatt-hours of power annually, just with a software patch for older Pis?

Is the LTT Precision Screwdriver a clone of the iFixit Precision Bit Driver?

Or does it have something unique to offer? I'll test both in this video, and compare them to some other precision screwdrivers I own.
